Vice Minister Qu Dongyu meets FAO Deputy Director-General Daniel Gustafson

Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met with Mr. Daniel Gustafson, Deputy Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in Beijing on April 19, 2016.
Vice Minister Qu Dongyu spoke highly of the outstanding contribution made by the FAO to the agricultural development and food security in the world and exchanged views with Deputy Director-General Daniel Gustafson on strengthening China-FAO strategic cooperation, broadening South-South Cooperation (SSC), and the alignment of SSC programme with the Belt and Road Initiative, among other issues.
Daniel Gustafson thanked the Chinese Government for its sustained and great support to FAO. He also expressed that the FAO stands ready to work with China to expand the strategic cooperation and contribute to the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative initiated by China.
During his visit to China, Daniel Gustafson and his delegation also visited other relevant agencies including the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the National Development and Reform Commission.
